Project „Sharing music and connecting people in the cross-border area“, with acronym SHARE MUSIC, is financed by the European Union through the INTERREG V-A Hungary-Croatia Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020.
The project started in July 2020, and during the implementation period, the project will include numerous activities with the goal of raising awareness of the importance of music and its influence on people (primarily young people, ages 10 to 25), as well as the importance of accepting different music cultures.
The goal of the project is connecting people (mainly young people, age 10-25) in the cross-border area through various creative activities, increasing music culture of the youth, encouraging active participation in music and mutual understanding and respect of different music cultures. The project activities will be conducted in the area of Koprivnica-Križevci County and the Zala County.
Except participating in music, young people will have an opportunity to participate in the singing competition “First Voice“, photography workshops but also various cultural programs and language workshops which will greatly contribute towards getting to know and accepting cultural differences. The activities will include professional musicians, professional singer, photography experts.
There are numerous advantages to this project. As part of the project, a document Development of music in the cross-border area and impact on people to people's connection will be written, which will contribute towards future development of young musicians in Croatia and Hungary. Music instruments and note stands necessary for the implementation of activities will be acquired through the project. The music equipment will serve as a tool for encouraging creativity in young people. Also, solar panel stands will be acquired necessary for setting the exhibition in Koprivnica of best photographs taken during the project. The photography exhibition is aimed at the general public and will be set up in Koprivnica and Hévíz and will represent an innovative presentation approach of the city, cultural and natural beauties of the city, which will indirectly result in the increase of the number of tourists. The creation of the final book of the project, which will contain the best photographs made during the project will in turn enable the promotion of cultural and artistic expression of all participants, which will contribute to the cultural and tourism promotion of both cities.
Music knows no bounds, nationalities, geographic or language differences, which makes the project activities a solid foundation for the connection of young people living in that area of both countries. By creating a mutual cooperation of the two cities and by ensuring the support of the three stakeholders (Art School “Fortunat Pintarić”, Grammar School “Fran Galović” Koprivnica and Hévízi Illyés Gyula Általános Iskola és Alapfokú Művészeti Iskola) the support to the music sector will be created, with the special emphasis on encouraging new talents and active participation in music.
